Data Protection Information

Leeds Centre for Psychological Development holds that secure data protection is at the heart of good practice. We maintain the following standards:
1. All information that you choose to disclose to us is considered confidential. This includes written notes and electronically held details including contact information and any other personal details.
2. All written notes are held in a locked filing cabinet at our work premises which can only be accessed by your therapist/trainer/group facilitator or supervisor. All electronically held data is in a password protected work computer. A current virus and phishing protection is used and kept current.
3. All information you give us is confidential with the following exceptions:
   a. If there were a risk of harm to self or others confidentiality would be broken in order to secure the safety of the person or people involved.
   b. If a court required any information to be disclosed in the pursuit of justice or as a requirement of law.
   c. If possible any such course of action would be discussed with you beforehand.
   d. Communication with other persons or organisations requested directly by you. In this instance all content to be disclosed would only be with your direct approval.
4. Any held information will only be used for the context and purpose that you give it.
5. Any held data will be kept in a secure place for a period of 3 years following completion of our services to you and would only be disclosed under the conditions (3.) above.
6. You have a right to withdraw your permission at any time.
7. You have a right to see any or all information held about you on request
